(Phrasal Verbs)


1. Put up: İnşa etmek, yapmak.

When did they put up those new residences.

2. Look up: Kitapta bulmak.

If you don’t know the meaning of a phrasal verb you look it up in a dictionary.

3. Turn up: Görünmek, ortaya çıkmak.

My socks turned up under my bed.

4. Pull down: Bilerek bir şeyi yıkmak.

The old bridge is going to be pull down.

5. Knock down: (Birisine araba, vs.) çarpmak.

My neighbour was knocked down yesterday as she was crossing the road.

6. Fall down: Yıkılmak, düşmek.

Many buildings fell down in the earthquake.

7. Take place: Yerini almak, yer almak, yerine geçmek.

In the new season some new Tv programs is going to take place the old Tv programs.

8. Take part: Katılma, iştirak etmek.

All villagers take part in the harvest festival.

9. Take care: Dikkat etmek.

10. Take care of: Bakmak, ilgilenmek.

11. Take after: Benzemek.

In the evenings, many people from their work headed for their home.
